So, what can you do to help increase donations this time of year? Here are some suggestions:
- Keep it Simple
Don’t force donors to scramble around your page trying to find where they can donate. Use a large, attention-grabbing ‘Donate’ button at the top of your site.
- Keep it Seasonal
Ensure that your message is warm, unlike the cold process of asking for money. Incorporate festive elements – like holiday bake sales and wreath fundraisers – so your initiatives are also an enjoyable celebration of the season.
- Keep the Tax Benefits Obvious
It may only be December, but April 15 is looming. Donors will be more compelled to donate before the year is over in order to take advantage of tax credits. Include emphasis of these benefits in all the communications you send out.
