Raise the Roof: Construction Case Study
Unique ID: 7a89ee6d-ca4b-48d4-9b3f-6e470c44bedf
Assurance recently encountered a client situation where an Illinois-based general contractor began working on a large commercial project in California with a roofing subcontractor. The subcontractor had inadequate safety programs in place. Terminating the contract would have put the roof package out to bid again, as well as incurring penalties for delays and non-performance.
After contacting Assurance, a Safety Advocate arrived on the jobsite to put proper safety plans in place. They remained onsite until risk was minimized, and then provided the subcontractor with the best practices to prevent current and future exposures.
With Assurance’s help, the project was able to continue without loss of production. The general contractor saved up to $520,000 on costs and penalties and avoided a rebid of a $1 million project.
