Schaumburg, IL (May 9, 2012) - Assurance, a Top 50 U.S. Broker, will be demonstrating how its employees "Step Up and ACT” for charities and people in need within the Chicagoland and St. Louis communities through its 2012 Scholarship Fundraiser event on Saturday, May 12. Hosted by Assurance Caring Together (ACT) – an employee-driven initiative that organizes charitable opportunities – the event will feature raffle prizes, outdoor games, announcements and lunch at Kimball Hill Park in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
Over the past five years, ACT has organized a handful of fundraising efforts to endow scholarships for students in need at William Rainey Harper College and College of DuPage. Through its Step Up and ACT event, Assurance hopes to raise funds for similar educational programs, while using the opportunity to announce the committee's charity partners for 2012. Raffle winners of over 28 prizes, including a trip to the Cayman Islands, sailing lessons, Chicago Cubs tickets and a WCIU Udog commercial, will also be revealed.
"The 2012 Scholarship Fundraiser and Step Up and ACT event will be a great way for Assurance employees and their families to gather in support of our local higher education institutions,” noted Jordan Shea, ACT Committee Chairperson. She continued, "This event will serve as the kickoff to our employee volunteer opportunities for 2012, in which we hope to add onto our more than 10,500 hours of community service."
