Schaumburg, IL (December 18, 2013) - For the fourth consecutive year, Assurance – an independent insurance brokerage with offices near Chicago and St. Louis – has been named one of Brill Street's Top 50 Gen Y Employers. Assurance and its Gen Y population are both rapidly growing. With over 300 employees and a second location near St. Louis, the company is set to open a third office in downtown Chicago next year. This expansion will inevitably add on to the current 35% Gen Y population at Assurance. Despite this expansion, Assurance is committed to maintaining a small company feel that's focused on community and, most of all, fun.

Lisa Pinion, senior vice president of human resources, is proud of how nimble Assurance has remained over the years. "We've done everything from distributing ‘survival kits' filled with snacks and small gifts when we went through a large technology change, to hosting a gourmet grilled cheese truck at our office so employees could try something new and exciting for lunch.”

Speaking of flexibility, given Assurance's Schaumburg location, employees have the opportunity to work from home when necessary. "If people are willing to commute an hour to work, we're willing to be flexible with their schedule and accommodate their needs,” said Pinion.
